Police hunt man after armed robbery at Lees petrol station

Police have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with an armed robbery at a petrol station in Lees.

Officers were called shortly before 9.10am last Friday (15 October) to a report of a gunpoint robbery at a petrol station store on St John Street in Lees.

It's believed that a man approached the store, pointing what appeared to be a gun at staff members demanding money. He then left the scene with around £300 in cash.

Specialist officers attended and enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made.

Police have now released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, and are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.

Detective Constable Daniel Berry, from GMP's Oldham District, said: "This was a shocking incident, that has left staff at the store understandably shaken. It's just fortunate that no-one was injured. No-one should be subjected to such fear when they're just doing their job.

"If you or anyone you know recognises the man in the pictures, or if you have CCTV or DashCam footage of the area at the time, please get in touch. Any information, no matter how small could help."

You can contact police via LiveChat at www.gmp.police.uk, quoting log number 785 of 15/10/21. Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
