Oldham's Ukrainian community grateful for support

Oldham's Ukrainian community have thanked the "wonderful people" from North West England who have supported their efforts with cash and other vital donations in their war effort.

Stefan Moroz is spokesperson for AID Ukraine 22, a charity fundraiser and members of Oldham Ukranian-Greek Catholic Church of St Peter and Paul All Saints on Chadderton Way.

He said: “In just a week, £12,650 has been donated to the fund plus a 4x4 vehicle. We have purchased two NISSAN Navarra vehicles and four large pallets of food have been delivered to the base in Poland.

"They will remain in situ in order to help refugees and Civic Defence units that come under protection of Lviv regional administration in Western Ukraine.

“This week, we are collecting medication for adults and children, female sanitary products, tooth paste, tooth brushes, nappies, paracetamol, anti-inflammatory tablets, plasters, dressings for wounds, torches, sleeping bags, floor/yoga mats as well as donations that can be paid directly into the the bank account.”
