Seventeen Oldham Mountain Rescue Team members helped a woman who fell and injured her ankle whilst walking with her family along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal at Diggle.
The team, who were alerted to the situation by North West Ambulance Service, were soon on the scene on Saturday afternoon (27 February).
One of the team's Casualty Carers was able to assess the woman and administer pain relief, before packaging her on their stretcher and wheel for the journey back along the canal to the waiting ambulance.
The team were involved for one hour and 11 minutes.
A spokesperson added: "As a rescue service we are happy to assist anyone in distress. We don’t judge our casualties and respectfully ask our followers to act in a similar manner. Let’s keep it positive folks!"
