Man, 20, given nine-week sentence

A 20-year-old man from Oldham has been committed to a Young Offenders' Institute for nine weeks by Tameside magistrates.

The court heard that Casey Mayall, of Werneth Hall Road in Coppice, had stolen items from the Boots store in the town on 5 May this year, while subject to a suspended sentence order.

He admitted the offence and must pay a victim surcharge of £115 and court costs of £85.
