Family pays tribute to 'beautiful daughter Immy'

The family of a woman who was found dead in Oldham last week have paid tribute to her.

She was found at a house on Ashton Road in the Bardsley area with 'a number of' stab wounds last Thursday (4 March).

The discovery was made after emergency services responded to a report of concern for welfare just after 12.15pm.

A woman - believed to be 29-year-old Imogen Bohajczuk - was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paying tribute, Immy's family said in a statement released by Greater Manchester Police: "The whole family is grieving the death of our beautiful daughter Immy whose life and future has been tragically snatched away from her."

Daniel Smith, 41, of Park Road, appeared in court on Monday (8 March) charged with murder.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Wednesday (10 March).

Greater Manchester Police have said the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) as 'standard procedure following previous police contact'.

A 35-year-old man who had also been arrested on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation.

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 4815, quoting 1088 of 04/03/21. Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
