Charity's urgent appeal to help vulnerable Ukrainian children

An Oldham-based charity has issued an urgent appeal to help groups of vulnerable children from Ukrainian orphanages who had to flee indiscriminate bombing with their carers.

Stefan Moroz, a spokesman for the charity, AID Ukraine 22, said: "They are a group without family ties. They have been left at the bottom of the pile in terms of being on the pecking order for visas. 

“The vast majority of these groups of children have been stuck in Lviv with support from the local Lviv City and Regional Administrations. 

“Our contacts on the ground have informed us there is a major shortage of baby food and milk and they have asked our project to help them urgently. We need to try and supply to them, as soon as possible, to support these innocent, poor, vulnerable children.”

They have requested: 

Happy Family Organics, Organic Baby Food; 2. Nestle Nan Optipro 2 Follow on Milk; 3. Baby food 0-24 months; 4. HIPP 2 Organic Follow On Milk; 5. Aptamil Creamy Porridge 4 months+; 6. Sachets of fruit and vegetable for children (all flavours); 7. Lactose-free porrridge; 8. Gluten-free porridge: 9. Children's hypoallergenic mixture 0-12 months; 10. Ella's Kitchen Store Baby Puree for 4 months; 11. HIPP Organic carrots, peas and cauliflower; 12. HIPP Organic Vegetables with Rice and Chicken; 13. Any flavour/taste of HIPP Baby food 0-24 months; 14. Aptamil 1  First Baby Milk; 15. Bledina - Bledine flavour Biscuits; 16. Aptamil 2 Follow on Milk Powder: 17. SMA  Advanced Follow on Milk  6 months.

Baby food and milk can be brought to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul and All Saints, Chadderton Way in Northmoor, between 11am to 11.15am on Sunday morning prior to Sunday liturgy at 11.30am.
