200 staff and students from Blue Coat run the Race for Life.

A group of 200 staff and students ran the Race for Life.

Nearly 200 staff and students from Blue Coat School took part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.

The group donned their running gear, with some even taking part in fancy dress, to run five times around Oldham Edge, a distance of 5km.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer. Last year the school raised over £2000.

Teacher, Leanne Richardson, who organised the event, said: “The Race for Life has been one of the biggest whole school events this year with the biggest staff and student turnout. The students have been so enthusiastic they have asked to organise another event to raise money for prostate cancer.”
