Everyone who knew Paul Reape liked and respected him and as his funeral cortège passed Carpenter Limited's factory at Shaw Lane in Glossop, work colleagues lined the road to pay their respects.

Family man Paul, 54, who lived in Gamesley, sadly passed away from a heart condition on April 8.

Paul had worked at Carpenter’s for many years, having started at the company on the January 23, 2012.

Close friend and work colleague Wayne Schofield said: “Paul was a well-liked and popular individual who had many friends inside and outside of work, with those in work showing their respects to him as his funeral procession passed by Carpenter’s at around 12.55pm on the April 27.

“He was an avid Manchester United fan with his family asking those who would be attending his funeral to wear something red, but unfortunately we were all wearing hi-vis garments as a safety requirement.

“Those attending showed their respects in their own way with many people clapping as he went past.”

Wayne said they wanted to show Paul’s family that they were all ‘truly sad for their loss and of course our loss at Carpenter Ltd’.

The funeral service for Paul, who leaves his wife Shabnam and daughter Lucy, took place at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Long Lane, Charlesworth, with interment at Glossop.
