What you can expect at Chapel Carnival

Chapel Carnival in 2019.

Chapel Carnival is back this weekend and will include a flypast from a Lancaster bomber.

The flypast is due to go over town at 1.19pm on Saturday (18 June), weather dependent, and has been arranged through the Chapel-en-le-Frith Branch of the Royal British Legion.

The carnival parade will start at 1pm, from the Tenneco (Ferodo) car park on Hayfield Road before making its way along Buxton Road, Market Street, High Street, Manchester Road and Long Lane to the Leisure Centre.

After the colourful parade makes it way through the town, attention will turn to the activities on the carnival field.

Motorists are warned that several roads in the centre of Chapel will be closed while the procession takes place.

It is the first time since 2019 that the event has been able to go ahead.

It will be the 50th carnival to be held since the tradition was revived.
