What was discussed in Charlesworth Parish Council's latest meeting

A donation of £450 to the school has been agreed by members of Charlesworth Parish Council at their July meeting.

The funds are to help finish the work on the footpath between Long Lane and the Church as it is being well used by parishioners.

* There is no change at Charlesworth Parish Council, with Councillor Cath Swindells re-elected as chair for the coming year and Councillor Edd Saidu re-elected as Vice Chair.

* A number of hedges are overhanging the pavement on Marple Road, making it dangerous to walk by.

As a result, the parish clerk is to write to the owners of the properties identified to remind them of their responsibility to ensure the footpath is kept clear.

* The parish council are to push for improvements to pavements around the village as many are in a poor state of repair.

With the surfaces being uneven, the fear is that they could cause accidents. The council agreed that photographic evidence of the issue is to be sent to Derbyshire County Council.

* Councillors are still waiting for action to be taken to deal with a leak on Long Lane that is flooding the grass verge outside number 26.

The issue has been reported to both United Utilities and DCC but has not been resolved.

The council are to liaise with Glossop County Councillor Jean Wharmby to push the matter forward.
