Well read youngsters in for a big reward this summer

Children across the High Peak are being encouraged to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge being held during the school holidays.

Derbyshire Libraries will be playing a key role in this year’s event which is open to all children aged between four and 11.

The theme this year is ‘Wild World Heroes’ giving readers a great opportunity to look at conservation, wildlife, recycling, and everything to do with looking after the environment.

The challenge being set is to read six books from the library’s collections between July 10 and September 11.

The books can be a physical book or an eBook or eAudiobook, fiction or non-fiction, as all count towards the challenge.

If your child is not already a member of the library a parent or guardian can sign them up at their local library or by joining online via the Derbyshire County Council website at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/home.aspx
