The kind-hearted pupils making masks to raise funds

Two schoolgirls have fundraising all stitched up.

Students Nia and Elin Griffin have been making face coverings to sell around their school, St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy, in Glossop.

The money raised from the sale of the masks will be sent to the Janna Foundation - which runs projects in Nairobi, Kenya - and Glossop Arts Project locally.

The girls are contributing towards much needed food and PPE.

The masks can be purchased for a bargain price of £2.50.

The Janna Foundation began when the founders came across a 10-year-old girl raising her 18-month-old brother in Nairobi.

She was living outside on a thin, grubby mattress with a couple of old sacks strung together to try and keep off the rain.

Her mum was found and the charity helped her away from prostitution and alcoholism by renting a small tin shack for her and her children.

The charity also provided them with food, clothes, a stove, kitchen utensils, a table and bench, a bed, mattress and blankets. They then were able to set mum up with a small coffee business.

The Janna Foundation is a registered charity meeting critical needs, and improving the health and education of children and families living in impoverished communities in Kenya.

Glossop Arts Project (GAP) is a community-based project offering Arts for Wellbeing.
