The Hillmen Face A Tough Bank Holiday Clash

Glossop North End face a difficult challenge this bank holiday Monday as they host top of the league Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The Hillmen come into the game on the back of an adequate draw in the FA Cup away at lower league opposition Eccleshill United. Their opponents would’ve taken a draw as Stocksbridge bowed out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle as they lost 3-2 to Irlam FC.

Coming into today’s game in the Northern Premier League - South East Division Glossop have had a mixed start as they lost their opening game but The Hillmen responded with a 2-0 win at Newcastle Town in their second fixture.  They will be looking to get another victory today to put that opening day defeat well and truly behind them.

Stocksbridge have had a blistering start to their campaign and sit at the top of the table. From their opening two games, Stocksbridge have hit seven goals and won both of their opening games.  The club seemed to have improved since last season where they finished 13th and they have made no secret of their promotion ambitions.

It will be a tough test for Glossop but one that the club will surely relish as they look to lay down a marker for the rest of the season.
