Teenager, 16, found guilty of assault

A Glossop youth has been given a youth rehabilitation order and restraining order by Tameside youth court.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied two charges of assault which had happened in Glossop on June 25 last year.

However, he was found guilty of both offences by the court.

He must not have any contact with the two individuals concerned and was also prohibited from entering Glossop train station without a valid ticket.

The order will remain in place until August, 2025.

An order was also made that a total of £200 compensation be paid along with £300 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

The teenager’s parent / guardian must foot the bill.
