Survey launched to improve communication with High Peak residents

A survey has been launched to gather opinions on how local organisations communicate with High Peak residents.

The Covid-19 pandemic has emphasised the increased risk of isolation and loneliness across the borough so High Peak CVS - along with other key partners including High Peak Borough Council, NHS, Derbyshire County Council, The Bureau and Citizens Advice Derbyshire Districts - are keen to improve the way they communicate with the local community.

The survey has been created to give residents an opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions.

The primary aim is to improve the way information is both shared and received, ensuring all services are available to everyone across the High Peak no matter their location or circumstances.

High Peak CVS say participation in the four-minute survey hugely benefits the community as the results will help a number of High Peak organisations to get information to residents in their most preferred method, as well as reaching people who may have been out of touch before.

CEO James Bromley said: "This is a starting point to identify how we, as key providers across the district, can adapt to ensure we meet the needs of all our residents, and they are able to access the information and support they need. I am very much looking forward to both seeing the results and acting upon them to strengthen the communication methods within the rural setting that is the High Peak."

High Peak Borough Council Leader, Councillor Anthony Mckeown, added: "With technology changes and how we access news and information, the Council and our partners want to understand better how and where our residents look for support and information.

“To help us and our partners improve, I would encourage as many people as possible to complete this short survey. By doing this, you can help us to try and ensure that we are sharing the right information in the right places.”

Those who do fill out the survey will receive both a free-week gym pass for either Glossop, Chapel or New Mills Leisure Centre, plus the chance to win a £50 Marks and Spencer voucher.

The survey is currently online here: https://bit.ly/HighPeakComms

Paper copies can also be filled out at Buxton Town Hall, all Derbyshire County Council libraries in the High Peak, The Bureau in Glossop, High Peak CVS and Citizens Advice Derbyshires District.

It is encouraged for one person from the household to complete the questionnaire, likewise if the survey could be filled in on behalf of those without internet access in order to get a broad range of recipients, it would be greatly appreciated by all High Peak partners.
