To help keep young people entertained over the summer holidays, a series of events are taking place in communities across the High Peak.

In New Mills, Youth Matters are running various activities including sports coaching, bushcraft, arts and crafts from Monday to Friday, 11am to 3pm, until 19 August at Derby Road playing field, off Portland Road.

Free family sports are taking place at the Memorial Park in Chapel-en-le-Frith every Friday in the holidays from 1pm to 3pm.

Sessions organised through UK Sports are being held at Needham Rec in Chapel-en-le-Frith from 11am until 3pm on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 August, and on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 September.

There will be lots of fun to be had and snacks and drinks will be provided.

Activities for young people in Glossop have been organised by Move More Glossop, The Bureau, Glossop Leisure Centre and Xplorer in Whitfield, Hadfield and Gamesley on various dates starting from Monday 8 August.

Then on Tuesday 30 August, a free fun day is taking place at Manor Park in Glossop. From 11am to 2pm there will be arts, tennis, basketball, cricket, crazy golf and bowls.
