Search continues for local health heroes

CONGRATULATIONS: The Trust's Facilities Team.

The search is on for the health heroes of 2022.

Nominations are now open for members of the public and staff to propose those who work at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust and deliver outstanding care and support to patients and colleagues.

The 2022 Who's Your Hero Awards are decided by a panel of judges who meet quarterly to agree worthy recipients.

The latest recipients are the Trust's Facilities team who have been nominated by their colleague Michelle Waddicor who, she says, during the pandemic have gone 'above and beyond' to ensure the Emergency Department during these extra busy times is cleaned, cleared and tidied.

The whole team has been commended for its hard work and for making sure of the smooth running of the extremely busy department.

Michelle added that because the team works in the background the staff often go unnoticed but their contribution is invaluable.

Trust Chief Executive Karen James says under manager Roger Mugherwa, the Facilities team demonstrates the values and behaviours of safety, care and respect.

She adds: "Michelle is right. These are our unsung heroes who help we can never under-estimate. It was a pleasure for me to meet with them to present them with their well-deserved certificates of appreciation."

If you know someone - or a team of health workers - truly deserving of one of these prestigious awards then go to the Trust's website at www.tamesideandglossopicft.nhs.uk/staffawards
