Risings Residential Home raise £500 for Glossopdale Community Defibs

The residential home raised money for a local cause last week when they had an open afternoon. It was filled with celebration and welcoming of the families and friends of the residents to discuss and share the outstanding daily care and support the home provide for residents.

Activities co ordinator Mandy Vella said: ‘It was an opportunity to come together as a community and discuss the person centred care of each individual and to share and recognise the importance of the wellbeing of each of our residents and how committed the care team are towards caring for them and achieving positive outcomes. We also offered our support and knowledge for different topics of care.”

The afternoon which was organised by Manager Charlotte Hanson and the team was filled with music, armchair dancing, art and refreshments.

The home did a raffle and has raised £500 for Glossop Community Defibs, a defibrillator has been fitted to the front of the home and the team wanted to raise as much money to give back to community so more defibrillators can be fitted around Glossop.

Prizes were donated by Matt the Veg man, forget me not key rings made by Buttons and Booties, The Beauty Room Glossop, staff, residents families.
