Police educate Glossopdale School pupils about knife crime

Glossopdale School, off Newshaw Lane in Hadfield.

Local police officers have delivered a presentation to pupils at Glossopdale School about knife crime.

PCSOs Brian Buller and Sarah Walsh from the Glossop Youth Engagement Team held lessons with Year 9 classes on Thursday (28 April) and Friday (29 April).

It was part of Project ZAO, which is aimed at reducing knife crime across Derbyshire and warning of the dangers of carrying a knife and to target those that do so.

A Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team spokesperson said: "We are also promoting and actively recommending the use of fearless.org by our younger members of the community.

"http://fearless.org offers young people a simple, easy and safe way to report any information about crime and it's 100% anonymous.

"A big thank you to the school and staff for their assistance and availability – and the two classes who took part on both days too."
