Open garden in Simmondley to raise charity funds

A Simmondley couple are opening their garden to the public in aid of charity this weekend.

Christina and Peter Harris will be inviting residents to visit their address at 27 Storthmeadow Road on Sunday afternoon (27 June) from 12pm to 4pm.

Admission is £3, children are free and there's no booking required.

It will be raising money for charity through the National Garden Scheme (Yellow Book)

Peter said: "Due to Covid, we were unable to open last year so the charities really lost out and we are anxious to try to make up for that.

"We will have a substantial plant sale at very reasonable prices with many unusual plants not found in garden centres and almost all to be seen growing in the garden.

"There will be handmade crafts for sale, a children's garden trail, a lucky dip and refreshments, so something for everyone."
