Old Glossop Victorian Christmas Fayre a huge success

The community turned out to support and welcome back the popular Old Glossop Victorian Christmas Fayre, held on Sunday.

The festivities included numerous stalls, music, carol singing and even a visit from Santa.

Dave Scanlon, Chair of Old Glossop Residents Association, which organised the event, was delighted with how the day went.

He told the Chronicle: "This annual community driven event was again a huge success. Thanks to all the people who worked so hard to make it happen and to all the people who on the day gave it the community atmosphere that underpins its popularity.

"A huge thank you to all the stallholders who took part and to the invaluable participation of Glossop Mountain Rescue Team.

“Equally important was the contribution from Milltown Cloggies, Dark Peak Brass, Glossop Choral and All Saints School Choir, all of whom played their part in the success of this community event.

"All proceeds are equally divided between Glossop Mountain Rescue and the organisers, Old Glossop Residents Association. Our share will go towards buying a defibrillator for Old Glossop."
