New picnic tables for Roughfields land

The Save Roughfields campaign has taken delivery of new picnic tables which will be sited on the green area.

Campaign spokesperson Halina Billingham said: “We have assembled a fantastic team of volunteers who are armed with spades, plenty of muscle and bundles of enthusiasm!”

Save Roughfields and Cllr Ollie Cross contacted High Peak Borough Council to ask for permission to place at least one of the picnic benches up on the top field, however, they were told that this was not permitted and all picnic benches have to be located in the play area.

The land is between Hadfield and Padfield.
