Award winning conductor Hannah Brine and the Hallé’s Stuart Overington will be hosting a unique day of singing as part of New Mills Festival. 

Suitable for complete beginners the day will run from 10am to 6pm, at Spring Bank Arts Centre on September 24 with a performance from the scratch choir towards the end of the day. 

The event is a chance to work with two inspiring leaders, as well as sing with others in harmony. Using a combination of sheet music, lyrics, and teaching by ear you will learn a variety of pop, folk, gospel, and choral pieces. 

Hannah Brine said: “This will be a fun day of group singing. The performance at the end will be a very informal sharing.  

“This is the first time we have been part of the New Mills festival and are looking forward to adding group singing to the programme of events.” 

Those taking part will be encouraged to invite their friends and family to go along at 5.15pm for an informal performance, finishing by 6pm. 

Tea and coffee will be provided but take along a packed lunch and snacks and wear a plain bright top for the performance. 

Tickets are £20 for singers and free for the audience for the informal performance.
