New 'affordable' homes in Buxton

A new housing development in Buxton is offering people the chance to own their own home at a more affordable price. 

High Peak Borough Council has confirmed there are 26 two and three bedroomed new homes on the Permission Homes development at College Hill Park - the former Harpur Hill College site - being offered at a reduced rate of 80 per cent of the market value.

Executive Councillor for Housing and Licensing, Fiona Sloman, said: "Many people dream of owning their own home and we want to help people achieve that ambition by encouraging house builders to increase the supply of affordable homes in the High Peak.

"I am delighted to say that, working in partnership with Persimmon Homes, we’ve been able to ensure 26 of the new houses at the College Hill Park site in Buxton are on sale at a reduced rate.

"This is great news which will open the door to home ownership to more people and I would encourage anyone interested to get in touch to see what’s on offer." 

Dave Hodgson, Sales Director for Persimmon Homes North West, added: "There are a number of Government schemes that makes homes affordable, but the High Peak Borough Council scheme targets local people, giving them a helping hand to buy a home in their own community.
