Mountain rescue help find more two lost walkers

Two women who ended up lost whilst walking in the Crowden area were found thanks to Glossop Mountain Rescue Team.

After being called out at 5.40pm on Saturday (6 March), crew members quickly located the walkers with the use of Phone Finder technology - which put them at Coombes Clough, near Didsbury Intake.

A Glossop MRT spokesperson said members quickly made their way to the lost pair and, after an assessment, they were walked back to the team vehicles at Tintwistle Knarr quarry, then driven back to their own vehicles parked at Crowden.

Twenty-four team members took part and were stood down at approximately 7.30pm.

GMRT - which receives no direct government funding - is continuing to appeal for donations to help ensure its volunteers can continue to turn out day and night to rescue people in wild and remote places.
