More on offer at Glossop Arts Project

Glossop Arts Project (GAP) is growing. It will be eight years old this year and has grown from three sessions a week to eight - and doesn't intend to stop there.

The Arts for Wellbeing organisation now delivers several groups a week.

They are a combination of Arts for Wellbeing sessions for adults with long-term physical and mental health conditions, adults with additional needs and young people who may be experiencing difficulties at school or who have left school but are not in employment or education.

These sessions are run by a qualified and experienced art teacher, youth worker and social worker and speech and language therapist, with the support of loyal and hard-working volunteers.

GAP uses arts and crafts, music and movement to connect with the participants to learn new skills, improve wellbeing and confidence and link with their community.

GAP have held exhibitions in Glossop train station gallery, have run joint projects with and exhibited art work in The Bureau, Whitfield House and Reuben's Retreat amongst others.

GAP is currently recruiting to their growing team, they need a project coordinator to work with the directors to meet the requirements of the existing projects and grow their reach. They are also advertising for a support worker to assist in the sessions.

For more information about sessions or how to join them or support them, go to www.glossopartsproject.org
