Local football club support Glossopdale Foodbank this Christmas

Players and coaches from all age groups at Glossop North End have been doing their bit to help local families in need over the festive period.

Glossop North End Community Club and Glossop North End AFC first-team players and coaches worked together to support Glossopdale Foodbank, by delivering giant Christmas hampers and other goodies last Friday (11 December).

They were collected by teams from the club's Under-7s all the way through to the first team, with each team supplying items in giant bags.

They will undoubtedly make a real difference to many families across Glossopdale at what can be a difficult time of year.

Club fundraiser Helen Thornhill said: "It was great to see so many of our teams and the first team come together to support this fantastic local support group.

"Glossopdale Foodbank will now distribute these bags of Christmas treats to local families in need. We hope they bring a smile to lots of people faces and huge thanks to everyone who helped make this happen."

Glossopdale Foodbank have thanked the club for all of their efforts.

They said in a Facebook post: "From everyone at Glossopdale Foodbank, thank you so very much to everyone at Glossop North End Community Club who made this fantastic donation possible.

"We will make sure these are distributed to families in need in time for Christmas. A special thank you to brothers Cal, Zak and Dylan from the Under-7s for coming to the foodbank to help deliver the gift bags."
