League of Ladies WI showing the love in Glossop

The kind-hearted League of Ladies WI have been hard at work to 'show the love' in Glossop. 

Headed by The Climate Coalition, Show the Love is an annual celebration of "everything we care about and want to protect from the worst impacts of the climate crisis". 

Every February since 2015, hundreds of thousands of people from across the UK have displayed green hearts to join together and ask decision makers to tackle the climate crisis. 

Glossop-based League of Ladies created the window display (pictured) - based at The Bureau on Henry Street - for the local community to see during their daily exercise and essential trips. 

Ruth Ainsworth, President of League of Ladies WI, said: "We hope the people of Glossop have enjoyed seeing it as much as we enjoyed creating it. 

"Ladies made individual green hearts at home using many recycled materials and items they could find around the house - crisp packets, old curtains and even unravelling wool from previous projects - to give them a new lease of life. 

"The last 12 months have meant many of us have reconnected with nature and value what we have right on our doorstep. Let's ensure we can keep it clean and green for as long as possible by remembering to #showthelove. 

"We would like to say a huge thank you to The Bureau in Glossop for letting us utilise their window space and all the wonderful ladies who got involved to create the display."
