How Simmondley groups can receive a cash boost

A Simmondley councillor is looking for local community groups and initiatives who need an extra cash boost to get in touch with him.

Stewart Gardner wants to hear from anyone who is part of a group or project in Simmondley that could do with some additional funding.

As a High Peak borough councillor, he receives £750 as a Councillors' Initiative Fund and still has some left to give out to good causes before February 2020.

Cllr Gardner said: "I've already given some of it to Glossopdale Harriers, who are going to put some distance markers along the trail to help runners out, and I've also used some to help set up a new community football club called Glossopdale Wednesday.

"But there is still a chunk left and it needs to be used. It would be a shame if it got to February and it wasn't used.

"If I can be of help to you, then get in touch with me. I have to say there are various stipulations you have to go through and there are forms to fill in.

"But if there is a community project you're involved in or there is anything we can do to support our local community in Simmondley, please get in touch. I would like to stress that it is for groups and projects in Simmondley."

You can get in touch with Stewart by emailing stewart.gardner@highpeak.gov.uk or send a message to his Facebook page 'Councillor Stewart Gardner for Simmondley'.
