Efforts to reduce the weight and bulk of kit carried by the volunteers of Kinder Mountain Rescue Team has benefitted a local charity.

As team members often have to carry sleeping bags and emergency shelters out onto the hills, they have bought new lighter and less bulky replacements.

Thanks to Green's Drycleaners on High Street West in Glossop and Elis in Rainhill, who kindly offered to clean the old but perfectly serviceable sleeping bags and shelters, they have been able to donate them to The Wellspring in Stockport.

The charity provides essential services to homeless and disadvantaged people but particularly need sleeping bags (and warm clothing) at this time of year.
