How Glossop Round Table is supporting The Bureau

Glossop Round Table's annual bonfire was cancelled last year due to Covid-19 and it wasn't just a disappointment to thousands of people.

It also hit local charities who relied on the club’s huge fundraiser for badly needed grants.

Tablers, however, have come up with a way of generating cash.

The club has linked up with The Bureau to raise money for their many services.

Co-chairman Edward Siddall said: “Glossop Round Table know the Bureau’s hard work and dedication to the people of Glossop and during this crisis they have helped and supported people in many ways.

“These include checking in on residents who are vulnerable, running online session and supporting people with medical appointments and getting them to the vaccination centre.

“This is Glossop Round Table’s way of saying thank you to The Bureau and we would like the community to support us in doing this.”

People can still donate by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/The-bureau-glossop

Edward added: “Glossop Round Table is a club for young men aged 18-45. We do social events such as beer tasting, crown green bowls, axe throwing, hovercraft racing, go carting, clay pigeon shooting and weekends away.”

Anyone  interested in joining should visit Glossop and District Round Table on Facebook.

The next social event on March 27 at 8pm is called Hometown Brews and involves tasting some of Howard Town Brewery’s amazing beers.
