Help Glossop Leisure Centre fundraise for Sport Relief and Willow Wood

Glossop Leisure Centre will be running a series of charity fundraisers in aid of two good causes this week - and they need the help of generous local folk.

The High Street East centre will be running a series of pop-up classes which include low intensity Strength and Conditioning from 9.30am to 10.30am and Circuit from 5.30pm to 6.30pm from Monday (March 9) to Friday (March 13).

On Wednesday (March 11), there will be Kettlebells from 7pm to 8pm and on Friday, there will be a 12-hour Spinathon running between 7am and 7pm.

They will be raising funds for Sport Relief and Ashton-based Willow Wood Hospice, which helps provide specialist palliative care for patients with life-limiting illnesses - both cancer and non-cancer diagnosis - in Glossop and Tameside.

Glossop Leisure Centre is appealing for anyone who has a spare hour this week to help take part in their fundraising efforts.

Anyone who wants to get involved can give the centre a call on 01457 842272 or email Rob Smith on rob.smith@lexleisure.org.uk to book a bike or space on any of the pop-up fitness sessions.

Glossop Leisure Centre is managed by Lex Leisure - a Community Interest Company (CIC) that has been established to build upon the legacy of two successful Paralympic games in London and Rio, the Invictus Games and other sporting events that have helped to inspire people with physical, mental or health-related inequalities to be physically active.
