Hadfield Infants School are planting for the future

Green - fingered pupils at Hadfield Infant School have been busy preparing their school garden beds for spring.

Alongside volunteers from a company which works with local business Findel Education, the youngsters had a fun time in the great outdoors.

The Woodland Trust has donated 40 saplings as part of the Eco School Awards. Hadfield Infants gave the children a chance to plant a tree to make their school a greener space by doing something positive to help combat climate change and improve the local ecosystems.

Teacher Beverly Kidd said : "We're really fortunate that they've all come in and they've been painting and planting trees with the children to improve their environment, it's been enormous fun."
