Hadfield church welcomes residents for free meal

People are being welcomed back to Bellies Not Bins at a Hadfield church for a free meal.

The Hadfield Coming Together Team say they are delighted to welcome residents back through the doors of Carmel Church on Station Road.

Gill Cross, who runs the event, said: "A free, hearty meal served with refreshments will be available to local residents from Carmel Church from 12:45pm until 1:45pm every Thursday. However, food parcels will still be available from 12.45pm until 2.30pm if people just wish to collect. There’s no obligation to stay for a brew and a meal.

“For the first time in over two years, we invited folk through the doors of Carmel at Bellies Not Bins last week. Local residents were treated to a bowl of leek and potato soup with a selection of refreshments to wash it all down with.

“I’m pleased to say that the new hybrid version of Bellies ran pretty smoothly on the whole and it turned out to be a successful day. We served 88 food parcels to Hadfielders, Padfielders and Tinslers over the course of the afternoon."
