More than 250 responses have so far been received as part of an ongoing consultation into parks in Chapel-en-le-Frith.

All residents in the Chapel area are being invited to put forward their thoughts and ideas on the future of their parks thanks to a partnership between Community Interest Company Shift and the Parish Council.

Emma Beswick from Shift said: “The response from the community has been amazing.”

She said one thing that is really clear from the responses is how much the parks mean to local people and how many are interested in getting involved.

“We have had people come forward who are interested in community litter picks, in joining friends’ groups and using it more.

“A lot of people are really interested in taking community action.”

Focusing on Chapel-en-le-Frith Memorial Park, Needhams Rec, Sparrowpit and Combs Park, local people will be able to identify what they need and want from the parks.

Postcards are available to pick up from local shops, the library, pubs and restaurants.

They can be returned to the Town Hall or be scanned and emailed. The survey is also available online through the Chapel Parish Council website.

The feedback gathered will form the basis of recommendations for Chapel-en-le-Frith Parish Council to take forward.
