Local residents are being invited to events across Glossopdale this week to mark the planting of Covid memorial trees.
High Peak Borough Council has now planted 13 oak trees across the borough to allow communities to remember all those who have lost their lives during the pandemic - especially the many people who died alone or whose families weren't able to attend their funerals.
Four of the trees have been planted in Glossopdale and there will be a series of short public dedication events, which everyone is welcome to attend at the below locations and times.

The news of the trees being planted was first announced when the nation marked the one-year anniversary of the first Covid lockdown back in March.
The type of trees that have been planted include oak, lime, maple and beech.
Other sites across the High Peak include the Slopes in Buxton, parks in Chapel-en-le-Frith, Hadfield, Hayfield, New Mills and Whaley Bridge, and cemeteries and war memorials in Castleton and Hope.
