Fundraising efforts by a Glossopdale youngster has seen £226 raised for the Ukraine appeal.

Phoebe Hewitt, from Hadfield, raised the money through the successful sale of the terracotta pots she hand-painted with individual designs.

The 12-year-old, a Year 7 pupil at Glossopdale School, sold the items at a stall at Glossop's Hartley Garden Centre on Saturday (7 May).

She was totally flabbergasted by the response as, not only was it a complete sellout, she also took orders.

Phoebe would like to thank Hartley Garden Centre for letting her run the stall and all those who have supported her efforts.

Her mum Jacqui said: “As her mum, I couldn't feel prouder of what she has achieved and feel overcome by the huge support she received from the Glossop locals so would personally like to say a massive thank you.

“It was so busy, even her twin brother Joseph had to help out.”

On completion of all her orders and together with the pots she sold on Saturday, Phoebe will have raised an amazing £226 for Ukraine.
