Glossop mum shares how she's overcome adversity in new book

A Glossop woman who has overcome cancer is passing on her coping strategies in a new self-help book.

Sharon Highley was determined her two children wouldn’t miss out on the good things in life, even though she was a struggling single mum.

The 50-year-old managed to find a new home and underwent surgery to remove her lymph nodes.

But as she lay in hospital recovering, tragedy struck again when her daughter and sister were caught up in the Manchester Arena attack, which killed 22 people in 2017.

Both were uninjured but have struggled emotionally since then.

Sharon (pictured below) has supported them both alongside setting up her own business.

Now she’s has written a chapter in a new self-help book, the Elevation of the Femalepreneur Volume 3.

It features 23 inspiring stories of women who have turned their lives around after going through some sort of trauma.

The digital book was released last Monday and has already become a number one bestseller in four countries on Amazon

Sharon’s chapter is entitled "Bloom".

She said: "My own chapter centres around the breakdown of my relationship with my children’s father and being a single mum.

“The Elevation of The Femalepreneur shares powerful, real life stories of 12 inspirational women who have faced challenges and adversity throughout their lives and on their entrepreneurial journeys.

"They all share the same message of no matter what you go through, no matter how tough it gets, you should never give up on your dreams! They want you to know that if they can do it, so can you."

The digital book and the paperback version are both available on Amazon
