Plans for Glossop Market Hall are among the applications to be considered by a meeting of High Peak's Development Control Committee on Monday (9 May).
Under the proposals put forward, the borough council wants to create new mezzanine level with retail units at both ground and mezzanine floor level and install a new lift.
The application, recommended for approval, also includes the refurbishment of the arcade and refurbishment and restoration of the first floor of the town hall.
Among the other applications to be determined on the Glossop-dominated agenda are the plans for a new Fire Station for Glossop and works to improve Victoria Hall which also look set to be given the go ahead.
The meeting will take place at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton at 1.30pm on Monday.
