Getting a toddle on to support Glossopdale Foodbank

The Cooke family's fantastic journey - by walking, running, cycling and toddling - managed to raise an amazing £1,845 for Glossopdale Foodbank.

They did it by getting from one end of the country to another... without straying too far from home.

Late last month we revealed how Rachel Cooke and her ‘far flung’ family were planning to ‘travel’ 1,310 kilometres.

It’s the equivalent of Land’s End to John O’Groats and they’ve achieved it - and it only took them a month.

Rachel, Phil and daughter Layla, and Benita and Oliver live in Whitfield,

 Margaret and Patrick are in Richmond, North Yorkshire.

While Alec and Gosia are on the other side of the Atlantic in Vancouver.

Yet between them they managed to share the kilometres between them.

With each set of Cooke numbers combining to add up the number of kilometres it would take to get from Land’s End to John O’Groats by cycling, running, walking and toddling.

Two-year-old Layla did the toddle... managing 22k.

Rachel said: “I just wanted to thank you so much for your coverage of our story. 

“We have managed to complete our journey, and your article I’m sure has really assisted us in raising £1,573 (£1,845 with Gift Aid). We received £500 from an anonymous donor, which was astonishingly generous.”
