Friendship and support in Glossop

Heads Together Glossop is offering a hand of friendship to those who need it.

The support group is for anyone living with a stroke or head injury.

The organisers say sufferers of either will always find a welcome at its weekly Friday meetings.

The 11am to 2pm sessions at Central Methodist Church, Chapel Street, have an ‘open door policy’.

All are welcome to attend for what members describe as a cup of tea, chat and fun.

That includes family members and carers.

It provides a perfect opportunity of meeting those with similar experiences.

Heads Together is all about confidence building and helping people to recover. The support group is also big on raising awareness of the conditions.

There’s also plenty going on at the Friday sessions, with the latest being armchair exercises with instructor Rodney Cairns.

It’s all about having fun while getting fit.

Members achieved both recently as they attempted to drop a bouncing ball down a hole in a moving multi-coloured ‘parachute’.
