Only one driver in almost 700 were caught speeding on a busy road in Little Hayfield in the latest community speed watch event.
The team were on the A624 Glossop Road, close to The Lantern Pike Inn, on Monday afternoon (28 September) between 2.50pm and 3.50pm.
The speed limit on the main road between Glossop and Hayfield is 30 miles per hour.
During the hour-long event, the three volunteers taking part clocked 694 vehicles passing by in both directions. Of those, just one was recorded driving above 36 miles per hour.
Police say the registered owner of that vehicle will receive a letter of advice.
Speed Watch is a community-based, education-centred scheme that helps ordinary people make a significant contribution to improving the safety of roads.
