Some 22 drivers were caught speeding in just an hour on a busy road in Tintwistle on Saturday afternoon (22 May).

The Hadfield Community Speed Watch team were in position on the A628 Manchester Road between 1pm and 2pm to keep a close eye on drivers.

That stretch of road has a speed limit of 30 miles per hour.

A total of 466 vehicles went past the team from the Manchester direction in the 60-minute duration.

Of those, 22 vehicles were recorded driving at a speed of 36mph or above.

Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team said the registered keepers of the vehicles will receive a letter of advice about their speeding.

They also said a massive thank you to the three volunteers from the speed watch team for carrying out the event.
