Derbyshire PCC launches survey on police and crime priorities

Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner Angelique Foster.

Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner Angelique Foster is inviting people to help set the policing agenda in the county by taking part in a new survey.

The PCC has launched a consultation to inform her Police and Crime Plan and shape the way that Derbyshire is policed in the future.

She says the survey will build on the feedback received by residents during her election campaign and will determine which areas of policing warrant the most attention in the eyes of the public.

Commissioner Angelique Foster said: "My plans for reducing crime and improving safety for all must reflect the needs of local people which is why it is important residents take the time to tell me their views.

"I am here to serve the public and will listen carefully to what local people want from their police service and how I can help make them safer.

"Once finalised, my plan will deliver an ambitious path for improvement and growth over the next few years that will put both victims of crime and the law-abiding citizen at the heart of policing in Derbyshire."

The survey asks people whether they have been a victim of crime in the past 12 months and whether they agree with the initial six priorities outlined by the Commissioner; strong local policing, neighbourhood crime and antisocial behaviour, rural crime, road safety, victim support and safeguarding and driving efficiencies.

It also provides respondents with the option of suggesting other priorities they think should be included.
