Date confirmed for Tintwistle Children's Gala 2022

Tintwistle Children's Gala will be returning this summer and organisers are looking for people to get involved to help make it another great event. 

After it couldn't go ahead in 2020 due to coronavirus, the village's biggest annual event was back with a bang last year as around 1,500 people enjoyed some fun in the sun. 

Thanks to the hard work of organisers Tintwistle Athletic, as well as so many other people and volunteers, the West Drive football fields were a hive of activity and full of smiles.

It has now been confirmed that this year's extravaganza will take place on Saturday 25 June, at the same location. 

There will be a meeting on Wednesday 16 February at 6.30pm at the Tintwistle Athletic FC clubhouse to start to put plans together for this year's event. There will be free tea and coffee, along with biscuits, for all attendees. 

Joanne Crossland, from Tintwistle Athletic, said: "We would love to see as many of you as possible at the meeting to share your ideas for different/new activities on the day, reflect on what was great last year, things we can improve on, other local companies/services we could invite along to the day, offer to help volunteer on the day, offer to help set up beforehand on Friday night and Saturday morning, and offer to help tidy up at the end of the event.

"If you are unable to make the meeting but have ideas you would like to put forward or offers of help, please message the Tintwistle Children's Gala Facebook page or message myself directly.

"Everyone is welcome to the meeting and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Wednesday 16 February."
