Mountain rescue teams have come to the aid of two people injured in separate falls in the Peak District.

On Saturday (21 May), members of Edale Mountain Rescue Team were called to assist a walker who had taken a three-metre tumble on the crags below Curbar Edge.

A team doctor was quickly on the scene followed by other team members and East Midlands Ambulance Service personnel.

The walker who suffered a painful lower back injury was given pain relief, packaged and stretchered to the waiting ambulance.

A climber was taken to hospital by air ambulance on Thursday (19 May) after suffering a number of injuries after landing heavily when they fell 10 metres while climbing at The Roaches on Thursday.

A passing walker raised the alarm and Buxton MRT were called to the scene along with the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust, and West Midlands Ambulance Service.
