Chatsworth donates cookie kits to schoolchildren

Hundreds of schoolchildren have been enjoying festive baking using cookie kits donated by Chatsworth.

The kits that included everything needed to make around 60 gingerbread cookies were warmly welcomed by 600 children in 15 infant, primary and special education needs schools across the area.

Each kit included ingredients from Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop, baking trays, icing bags, sprinkles and decorations plus cookie cutters in the shape of Chatsworth House as well as stars and Christmas trees.

Tina Carter, landscape engagement facilitator at Chatsworth, said: “The aim of these kits is to bring a little bit of Chatsworth Christmas magic to the children.”

Curbar Primary School in the Hope Valley was also invited to Chatsworth to make reindeer truffles after writing heart-warming letters to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, asking for help in attracting wildlife to their school garden.
