Charlesworth pupils spreading a little happiness

YOUNG GARDENERS: Niamh, Declan, George and Kady-Leigh with the potted plants.

Busy bees in Charlesworth have been brightening up their village.

During Mental Health week, the children at Charlesworth VC Primary were set the task of doing something positive for the community to help people who might be feeling isolated and lonely during the pandemic.

So they either planted a sunflower seed or potted up a flowering plant which was then placed in the village for people to take home.

Headteacher Phil Whiston said: “Every child in school made a decorated message that should bring people happiness and let them know that our children are thinking of them.

“These were placed at the local churches and outside school so that people walking by spotted them.

“The children enjoyed making these little messages and hope that they gave hope to people in our community.”
