Chapel hospice appeals for event volunteers

Blythe House Hospicecare is on the lookout for local volunteers who are keen to support them at a series of upcoming events.

The hospice on Eccles Fold Road in Chapel, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, say the volunteering roles may include marshalling, setting up, packing away, chatting to members of the public and giving out information.

The events are in the run-up to Christmas as Blythe House look to support people during the winter months, providing care for those affected by cancer and certain other life-limiting illnesses as well as supporting bereaved people.

There’s the Toddbrook Nursery Christmas Fayre on Saturday 16 November between 10am and 1pm and the Blythe House Christmas Fayre all day the following Saturday (23 November).

That’s followed by the Christmas Fayre at Haddon Hall Care Home on Saturday 30 November between 1pm and 5pm.

Then there’s the eagerly anticipated Jingle Bell Jog at Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens on Sunday 1 December from 8am to 1pm.

And finally Blythe House will be holding a Light up a Life service on Sunday 8 December from 2pm to 5pm.

The hospice say full training and support for the aforementioned roles will be given and would be very grateful to anyone who can offer any of their time to help at any of the events.

Anyone who is interested in doing so can call 01298 875 089 or email events@blythehouse.co.uk
