Carmel Christmas Breakfast 'a resounding success'

Padfield borough councillor Ollie Cross helping out at the Carmel Christmas Breakfast.

People from across Glossopdale tucked into a hearty breakfast thanks to the dedicated team at Carmel Church in Hadfield.

The Carmel Christmas Breakfast saw 49 folk from Hadfield, Padfield, Tintwistle and Old Glossop served with either a full English breakfast; bacon, sausage or egg butties; and tea, coffee or orange squash to wash it down with.

Padfield borough councillor Ollie Cross said Saturday's event was "a resounding success".

He added: "It was a wonderful morning filled with excellent company, hearty food and plenty of laughter. We had a variety of wholesome Christmas tunes playing in the background too.

"A huge thank you to Bernie, Daniel, Gill, James, Madison and Vic for all their hard work. They all put in a monumental shift, cooking, preparing and serving folk's breakfasts, whilst I chipped in by putting in a shift on brew duty."

The next Carmel Community Breakfast takes place on Saturday 8 January 2022.

The service is free of charge and all are welcome. If you would like to find out more information, you can contact Gill on 07549 307 720.
